Meet Stephanie Bordas: Your Boudoir Photography Educator

Hello and welcome! I'm Stephanie, a photographer, mentor, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. I'm passionate about helping women feel beautiful and seen, both through my own photography and by teaching other photographers how to do the same.

I'm a true Brooklynite, born and raised in this incredible city. As a mom of two young girls, I love exploring the world and always seek out the road less traveled. I'm a firm believer in saying "yes" more often than "no," and that a little bit of bravery can lead to unforgettable adventures.

From TV Producer to Photography Pioneer

Before I was a photographer, I had a successful career as a TV and film producer in New York City. I loved the fast-paced environment and the creative challenges it presented. However, deep down, photography always held a special place in my heart. In 2011, I discovered the world of boudoir photography and knew I had found my true calling.

Leaving the security of my established career was a daunting leap. With no prior business experience, I dedicated myself to learning the intricacies of photography and building a thriving business from the ground up. Through sheer determination and a whole lot of hard work, Brooklyn Boudoir was born.

At Brooklyn Boudoir, I believe boudoir photography is about so much more than just physical beauty. It's about cultivating confidence, embracing freedom, and connecting with your sensuality. Stepping outside your comfort zone, being brave, and celebrating your unique femininity can be incredibly empowering for any woman.

I'm committed to creating a safe and judgment-free space where women can feel truly fantastic about themselves. My goal is to help them rediscover their inner strength and celebrate their unique beauty, regardless of age, weight, or relationship status. At Brooklyn Boudoir, you won't find cheesy costumes or outdated filters. Instead, you'll experience a bespoke, personalized session that captures your authentic self – real, raw, and 100% you.

Building a Successful Business from the Ground Up

Without the luxury of a dedicated studio, I creatively utilized hotel rooms and other rental spaces to create stunning imagery. Within just two years, Brooklyn Boudoir reached six figures in revenue.

While leaving my producing career behind was challenging, I now enjoy a fulfilling work-life balance that allows me to be present for my family while pursuing my passion. I cherish the opportunity to empower women through transformative photo experiences and to help other photographers build successful businesses of their own.
